Team-ed Up to Clean Up Worli Koliwada

The Heritage Project and RPG Foundation conducted a successful Cleanliness Drive around the Worli Fort, a heritage site, on 10th February 2023. More than 90 volunteers from RPG Group companies and BMC employees joined hands to clean the Worli Fort and the area around it of the debris, fishing nets, and plastic waste dumped around the area.

Worli Koliwada Transformation Project

We are working towards a 360° transformation of Worli Koliwada with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC – G-South Ward). Various art, infrastructure upgradation, community development programmes, and events have been planned to revive this 800-year-old urban village’s rich cultural heritage, and enhance the socio-economic status of the local community.

SIGNAGES: UNESCO World Heritage Site, Fort

We collaborated with Urban Design Research Institute, and are funding the development of a comprehensive signage plan for the Victorian Gothic and Art Deco Ensembles of Mumbai. This ensemble of 94 beautiful buildings in South Mumbai were declared a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) World Heritage Site in 2018.

In collaboration with Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC – D Ward) and Directorate of Archaeology and Museums (DoAM), we are uplifting community spaces, improving accessibility and visitor experiences, and fostering overall socio-economic development of the communities living around Banganga – Mumbai’s oldest continuously inhabited site.

We developed a mobile application, Amble, with an effort to bring to life stories of the past through digital mediums and make heritage relevant for all. The app provides access to self-guided heritage walking tours around Mumbai.
